1 Kilowatt Equivalent (kWe) Gas Wellhead Remote Power Unit

Solution Developer

Etalim Inc.

Project Description

Based in Vancouver, BC, Etalim Inc. has spent 14 years developing a thermoacoustic generator set (genset) that is ideal for remote power use. It has no sliding or rotating parts, making it ultra-reliable and maintenance-free. The technology can burn field gas fuel as it is an external heat input device that is not sensitive to fuel impurities.

This genset is ideal for deployment at remote oil and gas wellhead sites to produce reliable on-site electricity. The generated electricity eliminates wellhead methane emissions by electrifying wellhead controls.
The venting of methane by pneumatic wellhead controls is currently a major source of greenhouse gas emissions since methane has 25 times the warming potential of CO2. Eliminating methane emissions will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions by Canada’s oil and gas sector.
