Owners of large brownfield industrial facilities struggle with digital transformation of these facilities. The foremost problem they face is understanding what is installed in these industrial facilities and how those things are connected and how they are controlled. This is especially the case for facilities that are more than 15 years old as the design of most of these facilities exist as 10s of 1000s of PDFs of engineering drawings created over many, many years.
Non-availability of digital engineering drawings and diagrams makes future expansions challenging. Thus, older facilities are left saddled with higher costs of maintenance and increased costs to de-bottleneck or upgrade facilities. EPCs and asset owners often end up spending a lot of manpower to study and understand the existing systems. They will spend 10s of 1000s of hours and 100s of 1000s of dollars to convert these drawings to CAD files before they can make any changes to the plants or digitalize the oil field. Drishya uses AI to help Oil and Gas companies meet their ESG goals while simultaneously making their operations energy efficient and cost effective.
Their solutions encompass Engineering Digitalisation and AI/ML enablement. Through Artisan Drishya has trained AI to see, read and understand piping and instrumentation diagrams and isometric drawings like an engineer does. In seconds, AI converts them to CAD files. The system scales to analyze thousands of engineering drawings in minutes, connect them together and build a 3D model i.e. a digital twin of the plant. As compared to the traditional method of engineers manually surveying the plants or using 3D, laser scans that only cover the visual aspects of the plant, our technology discovers both the physical and logical structure of the plant.
